Title: Day One Hundred and Thirty-Six: Monday Description: New week, new section. Automation and programmability. Category: general Date: 2026-10-12 23:00:54 Tags: diary, october, monday, ccna
Monday. Opened a new CCNA section today — automation and programmability, which is the part of the exam that feels most like where the industry is actually going. REST APIs, Python basics, software-defined networking concepts. Some of this I've touched before in passing; some of it is genuinely new to me. The Python stuff I'm not worried about. The SDN conceptual layer is going to take some time.
Work was steady. Nothing that required escalation, which is the version of a good Monday I've come to appreciate. There's a kind of professional peace in problems that are actually within scope — you know what the tools are, you use them, the problem resolves. Not every day, but today.
Monday in the third week of October. The year is doing its Q4 thing whether I'm paying attention or not. I said yesterday I'd try to just take the next day — here it is, taken. On to the next one.
