Title: Day One Hundred and Thirty-Nine: Thursday Description: First practice exam. Humbling and useful in equal measure. Category: general Date: 2026-10-15 23:00:57 Tags: diary, october, thursday, ccna
Thursday. Took my first full practice exam today. Passed, but not by as much as I'd like — mid-70s, and the passing threshold is 825 out of 1000. The score itself isn't the point at this stage; what's useful is knowing where the gaps are. Wireless and some of the IPv6 addressing came up short. Those are fixable. The things I got wrong weren't random — they had a pattern, and patterns are something you can work on.
That's the value of doing a practice exam before you feel ready. If you wait until you feel ready, you're just confirming what you already know. Doing it now tells you what you don't.
Thursday night. One more day, then the weekend and more review. The end of the material is visible, but visible and achievable are different things. Still moving.
