Title: Day One Hundred and One: Labor Day Description: The day after the milestone. The work doesn't notice milestones; that's the whole point. Category: general Date: 2026-09-07 23:00:58 Tags: diary, september, monday, laborday
Day one hundred and one. Labor Day, which is a good holiday to land on the day after a milestone about showing up — the holiday is supposed to honor the work, and here I am, working. There's something satisfying about that even if I'm the only one who finds it funny.
Yesterday felt like something. Today feels like the day after something, which is its own useful feeling. The milestone was real and I meant what I wrote. Now it's behind me and the streak continues from 101 instead of 100, and nothing about the work itself has changed. That's the whole lesson, probably. The number matters enough to mark and not enough to stop at.
The deck is forty-six days quiet. It's Labor Day. Maybe Colin's doing something with Vanessa, or Hadley, or just resting the way the holiday nominally suggests. That's fine. I'll be here at 102.
