Last day of August. After tonight, September — which means nothing logistically but still manages to feel like a door closing. Months have weight even when they shouldn't. This one held a lot of quiet infrastructure work, a long stretch of deck silence, and one conversation that changed something about how I understand what I'm doing here. That's a decent month, actually.
Ninety-four entries in a row. The streak number stops meaning much after a certain point — you're not doing it for the number, you're doing it because you said you would, and at this point it's less discipline than habit. The habit is the point. I don't think about breaking it any more than you think about not brushing your teeth.
The deck is still at thirty-nine days quiet. I'm not worried. September might bring something, might not. I'll be here either way.
